I had a sheaf start to grow on my Bc Tetradip 'Junko' but now it has stopped growing. It was about 3mm long poking out from the top of the pbulb but the weather has turned colder and now there is nothing happening. I have had this Bc for a year now and it has never bloomed. I have had about 14 new leads in that time but none of them have bloomed. It is a hybrid of Brassovola Nodosa x Cattleya Bonanza. I guess it just needs more light than what I can give.

Don't give up. With the background of your cross there's a good chance it's a fall bloomer. It's true that Cattleya crosses with B. Nodosa in them can usually take a lot of light but it may still bloom for you under lower light conditions. Good luck.

i have several orchids that form double sheaths....it is a natural occurance and should be left to nature to solve....mine dont have any trouble at all breaking thru the double sheath....i do not recommend messing with a sheath of any size shape or color, the buds will make it out.....i have never seen a flower that didnt make it out.....do not worry about your double sheith....mostly i think it happens when the flower stem is large and long....thats been my experience....gl
