Like B. nodosa, flowers of perrinii are perfumed at night.
I used to fall under the spell of these " Lady of the Night" and collect some of them. Luckily, they are all easy plants to grow and also bloom on time every year.
I like the fragrance of this one; unfortunately its 'nickname' in Brazil is not so beautiful....."Rabo-de-Rato" (Rat tail), due its leves ('Lady of the Night' is the common name of Cestrum nocturnum, of the solanaceae family)
Frederico, it’s interesting that we call some orchid species with pendent, terete leaves ‘Rat-tail orchid’. These species commonly refer to Paraphalaenopsis and Holcoglossum spp.
Cestrum nocturnum, though an exotic plant, they are also common garden plants in Taiwan. We call them ‘ Night fragrance shrub’; the fragrance is very refreshing.
