Of course, it may take more than one photo and I wouldn't mind that a bit either.
Kiki, you're describing my living room! You see, most of times I bring my flowers inside to decorate it when the plants are not sent to shows, so the greenhouse itself is ...say... poor of orchids in bloom !
Here's a photo of my table by this time of the year:

Last saturday I was testing my camera and took a photo of one corner of my grh. Here it is:

Ross, I like black background just because most of times it interferes little with the object. As you know, a black surface reflects absolutely no wave length and this helps to faithfully register the colors of the object being photographed. It is not easy all the times, as you know, because some flowers are tricky to photograph in black background. Anyway, I thank you for the suggestion and I take it as a good contribution. It is a good idea to vary and see what happens.

I like the frilly petals of the laelia grandis .. it reminds me of schomburgkia
I like the yellow contrast against the green of the leaves and that lip .. oh that veiny lip is sweet
Oh Ross .. you and your black background pet peeve .. Guess I could never get you to buy a purple or pink orchid either (Definitely not one that has 'Ho' in it's name)
I do like the way my orchids look against the blue/turquoise background that I have used when photographing them, like in my avatar. It's actually the side of the large plastic container I use to store my orchid supplies in. It's good for close ups

Love your tabletop display! Gorgeous plants and colors!
You can't help but notice that little laelia toward the bottom .. the yellow stands out against all the white, purple and rose colors.

You have noticed! It wasn't there by chance. Sort of counterpoint...
