This seems to be a twice a year bloomer.
I got it from Kawamoto last summer with two spikes with one flower on each.
Then I killed off some new developing leads, leaving only one. This one grew and bore two flowers on a spike in December.
Now it is in bloom again on a biggest pb ever but only one flower.
It is cute and smells so nice all day and well into late evening.
I think cattleyas among other orchids I grow, respond badly to
misting near the dormant eyes. They always turn dark and die.
This little guy has about two or more dormant eyes swelling up. I have to really be careful this time.
