The enthusiasts classify Purpurata-varieties for the colour, the coloration of the lip and the pattern on the petals.
The normal 'tipo' is attractive for the coloration, but the shape of the petals does not satisfy the judges.
The shape of the dark 'atro' is much better. Sepals and petals show a faint blush of the same colour upon opening that fades later on.
