C. skinneri tipo and alba oculata
This is an easy growing bifoliate species from Central America, occuring from southern Mexico to Costa Rica, where it is praised as its national flower.
I've heard that the bifoliate Cattleyas like a little more water than the unifoliate ones.
Despite of the long winter here lacking the light so badly the flower production was good. The tipo is the normal form with little white in the throat.
I like the glistening pure white of the alba oculata form (white with an eye).
