Default Encyclia (randii x ghillanyi) (?)

I was given this hybrid Encyclia times ago. I was told that it is a cross between Encyclia randii with the brilliant, dark lavender Encyclia ghillanyi (a species very similar to Encyclia dichroma). I’ve seen it in shows labeled as Encyclia Primavera, though this is not a registered name. I am not sure also that the parents are OK, but the general characteristics of the plant and the flowers fit with them. Anyway, I am keeping it because of the beautiful coloring.

That does seem like an unusual coloring from a primary hybrid of 2 species!
Peter.

Quite unusual. But, take a look at both parents...
