Rth. Betty Binnie 'Laina'
Seems to be a 'one off' known plant of this cross. I've had it for a while & this is the 1st flowering. Original owner said its correct.

Hi Roy, I think I posted about your plant on another forum. Orchid Wiz does show a registered orchid by this name. There's no photograph and there's no awards listed. It's a very pretty little cattleya with good color and a very nice, round, flat shape.

This cross was made here in Aust' by a person I knew years ago. The registrant I don't know. There must be more plants about but never seen. Its not awarded here either that I know of.

The 'Laina' clonal name is used by the Orchid Center in Hawaii, so I would not be terribly surprised to find out that they had mericloned it.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know who used the clonal name 'Laina'.
I'll do some more research.

This one is so quaint and the lip is very flat. Unusually flat for a cattleya; i like it!
