Cattleya mossiae
This is a first bloom seedling that I bought from the Tropical Orchid Farm in Maui. It was billed as a selfling of a clone with a bright yellow lip. It does seem to cary that trait. I'm not sure what form to call it, perhaps a concolor although the color of the sepals and petals is a bit darker than most concolors I have seen.

Wow, that is gorgeous! I have had a seedling for several years and it has really grown lately. doesn't look like a 'seedling' anymore! Maybe the newest growth will bloom for me. I love yours!

Great first bloom! The blooms look pretty large and the color is really nice.
I was thinking concolor as well when I first saw it. Seems like a legit label to me.

Wow, very nice. Please tell us about your plant. How tall is your plant? How and where are you growing it?
Many thanks,

Thank you. The plant is 8 inches tall from the top of the pot. I grow it under LED lights (100 W fixture, 12 inches away). The night temps are 60F in winter and winter day temps are ~ 80F. Summer temps about 10F warmer. I fertilize with 125-150 ppm of a urea-free fertilizer weekly year-round.

Hey
great growing
I thought con-color meant the lip color approximates the same as the petal color, not darker. I could be wrong. I like your plant, and photo.
take care
Rex
