Wow! That's exactly what I was searching for. Thank you very very much.

Mine is doing well. Lots of new roots, and some shiny new psuedobulbs.

The general shape of the flower including the lip goes very well with the plant. Very attractive. Your baby is mysterious and beautiful with it being nearly noid and all. Good luck with your hunt for its origins.

Part of the problem is the reclassificaction of many species into different genera. It is registered by the RHS, but I had to look up genus name for both Betty Fowler & White Bridal to find it.

BLC Betty Fowler is now Rhyncattleanthe Betty Fowler
C White Bridal is now Cattlianthe White Bridal
and the resulting grex is:
Rhyncattleanthe Psycho Bride

It was registered by Newman's Nursery on March 7, 2014. Guess we know where the 'NN' clonal name comes from.

And, the abbreviation is not the obvious RCG, but rather RTH (I have no idea how they came up with that one).

Cool, if it was registered in Mar 2014 it looks like it was too new to have been registered yet when this thread started.

It's a really pretty one from the pictures higher up this thread. :)

So now it's... Rth. Psycho Bride?

I'll be perfectly honest. When I posted this I figured I would never ever find the parentage.
You guys are so great.
I have quite a few more orchids from trader Joe's with 'nn'.

Aha! Just registered! It all makes sense lol.
I'm happy it finally has a name.
Now.. if I could just get it to bloom.

These changes are driving me nuts. Most of my collection is Paphs, so there I am OK. The second largest group is the Vandaceous family, mostly in smaller intergeneric hybrids.

Since all Ascocentrums & Neofinetia have been reclassified as VANDA for registration purposes, it means that:
1. Many have changed genus (mostly to straight 'Vanda').
2. When I am thinking about buying a new plant, I need to look it up in OrchidWiz, to find out whether it is going to end up being 4" or 24" across.

I am ready to Tar & Feather whoever decided to make these changes.:((

Ordphien 06-05-2014 05:05 PM

I've been wanting to get into vandaceous orchids but I'm finding it a little taxing for those exact reasons.
For now though I just use the tag name till someone corrects me.
Then I change the tag.
I just can't keep track of it all lol.

just re-read this comment. Reminds me of the Catherine Tate Show. If you like British humour, this is a must see. Maybe you already have, using that expression.
