How do you know when there will be a sheath?

i mean, if a PB has no sheath and no buds(still), can I know if it would bloom?

When a bulb matures and develops a sheath, it is actually producing very tiny, tiny buds inside the sheath that will grow at a later time. I've seen bulbs develop without a sheath and have those tiny tiny buds exposed to the air. I think that has more of a chance of blooming than a p-bulb that develops with no sheath and no tiny buds. Usually when I see a bulb with no sheath, I just assume it won't bloom. Rarely am I wrong with that assumption.

It just means you have to collect more plants so at least one is in bloom at all time!! lol
