The sheath will never grow later, but you can get a bloom without a sheath. I've noticed that no sheath usually means no bloom, but not always.

Yes.
I should also ask, is the plant mature?

and i have bought many catts, because I like the flowers and the fragrance.
but I knew, they bloom only once a year, don't they? and last only 2-3 weeks, much shorter than Phalaenopsis 3-4 months.
but sometimes I ask myself, if it's worth. what do you say to it?

Sheath or no sheath it can possibly bloom once the PB's are healthy and it has not flowered prior. The shealth really is only to protect the developing buds from the elements and to support the stem that holds up the flowers. The buds actually emerge from an internal sheath within the larger one.

Ok, I just wanted to be sure they were mature plants.
As for how often my Catts bloom, it really depends on what species or hybrid you have. Most species (not all, but most) Catts bloom 1x per year, but many hybrids bloom several times per year so it really depends on what you are growing.
I think 2-3 weeks per bloom is about average for most Catts too. Again, it really depends on which species/hybrid.
