Cattleya amethystoglossa
I have a couple of C. amethystoglossa in bloom. This is the better of the two in color and shape. The plant was obtained from H&R Nurseries of Waimanalo. It is a cross of C. amethystoglossa 'H&R Supreme' x C. amethystoglossa 'Hihimanu'. The slightly cupped flowers have a natural spread of 3-1/4 inches. The front growth is 18 inches tall (measured to the base of the flower stem).

That's lovely and what I hope to get some day from mine! I bought mine from H & R as well. It is 'Camino Real' x 'H & R Supreme' 4N. I'm not sure if that means only the 2nd parent is 4N or the cross is a 4N. Is yours 4N?

Mel, that Catt is really nice! I think this is one of the best Catt species and yours is obviously very well grown.

That's a beautiful C. amethystoglossa! I really like the colors. I was disappointed in mine because it only had three flowers and the colors weren't nearly as nice as yours. Your's is a very nice one. Good growing.
