but I see a major white streak (visible on both inner and outer suface of the petal) on one of the two flowers that worries me.
Other than that, I'm loving the flower form and the fragrance! Color is good, but I love yellow and would love the clone "Southern Cross".

What a gorgeous flower! The coloring is so delicate it makes the entire flower look light and airy, but it looks really substantial! Really nice!
I too would be concerned over the color break - and it is definitely a color break.
I am not sure that this is always viral though - I am going to post in the Scientific area to see if there aren't other pathogens that cause such breaks.
You might want to hit it with a fungicide just in case. It really is a beauty!
Happy Holidays
Steve

Yeah, the white streak is really definite you have to be blind to miss it.

It could be genetic deformity but I suspect virus and guessing game will come to an end when I have my plants tested in the near future.

I don't think this is fungal at all, though.

Other than that, this flower I think has such nice form.
Under the right light, it does look so nice. otherwise, it looks just darn ugly due to the delicate color.

Happy holiday to you as well.

It is. the flower shape is perfect to my standard. It's what I would love to see in all BLCs I buy, but some have petals curled out (as in my Goldenzelle)...or do not open flat all the way out.
Certain paphs and catts drive me crazy with their "ill" flower shape the most while my other chids are all fine.

oh, well...

That is so delicately beautiful! I've been trying to get one of these for ages but can never get this variety. someone I know has one, but so far they haven't offered me a piece

Since it is only one streak, couldn't it be just a flaw in its growing?

Nice pastel colours, looks like a water colour painting.

The colors are spectacular, but the white streak could be a problem.

Maybe that someone you know has a small one or wants to have a super massive specimen size plant out of it??
Mine only three pbs, this variety is supposed to grow fast and bloom often.

Well, I plan to send a sample to Critter Creek, but they are closed until January 10. I will find out for sure and will post the result.

I don't think culture causes such white streak. It's most likely virus or genetic. again, will find out soon.
