Thanks, Garden. Reds are pretty hard to get right in a digital camera, but these photos are pretty accurate.

Thanks, Ron. The flowers are very large for the size of the plant as well and it blooms readily unlike some Cattleyas.

I'd love to try one, I've had trouble getting really red cattleya hybrids. They're always a little maroon looking, at least to my eyes.

This one certainly is not the fire-engine red of Soph. coccinea, but tends more toward the maroon end. It's not a bad red, however, and certainly not what one would call maroon.

Thanks Ron, that's helpful to know. I'd buy one just with the photo you posted. I don't mind Reds on the blue side as opposed to the yellow side (I like both), but I'm not wild about murky reds.
