It is one of my favorite plants ever! I wish it was a year round bloomer. hahaha

I got it at a shore orchid festival in Naptune, NJ.
This is a relatively new show that started only a couple of years ago. It is held on the first weekend of June.
I couldn't make it this year because I had to visit Texas that same weekend. bummer!
I was told it had some international vendor from Taiwan and Japan. I was so sad I couldn't attend. well, well...

They usually have lots of cattleyas in bloom and lots of paphs by one vendor I don't recall the name of. then there are everything else in bewtween.

NY Botanical Garden has annual orchid show starting late March for about a month or two.
During this time, the shop sells lots of beautiful flowering orchids of many kind from vendors nearby.
The issue is the price. They charge SOOOOO much for anything they sell. Even the tiniest little thing is $42. Most of them are usually 60-70. Yeah, but I spent several hundred dollars. crazy me. I don't see that happening again though. lol

As far as orchid society meeting goes, I always thought about attedning, but never actually joined them. I did visit for a wonderful lecture in November for the first time. I think I will go again this month.
It's the second wednesday night of every month. Look up Manhattan Orchid society and find out info about the new location if you'd like to attend.
