Cattleya jenmanii 'Eileen'
A reliable Fall bloomer with a wonderful fragrance. I learned it does best when grown in as bright a light as possible without burning.

I wonder if that counts as a rubra variety? Either way, it sure looks good!

Thanks orchid lovers! Isurus, I bought this from a small So. American vendor at the Redland Festival in 2006. It was labeled 'Teresia X Rosa'. 'Rosa' is quite dark from pictures online. A magical thing about this orchid is that the color varies from year to year and I learned that bright, bright light makes for dark colors and stronger fragrance. The first year she bloomed for me there was a strong contrast between the dark lip and lighter petals. [IMG]

I think it's just short of rubra and a hair darker than v. tipo most years.

Mokeck, your jenmanii is beautiful! It's one of the best I've seen. You can't beat that jenmanii fragrance. Good growing.
