Stan, Littlefrog Rob got the idea in my head that it smells like warm vinyl, so everytime I smell it, that's the description that comes to mind...

Oscar, I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ30. Depending on what time of day and the ambient lighting, I play with the camera's manual settings until I get a shot that I like. Lately, I haven't been able to take pics during the day so I have to use the standard flash. That black background is a CD caseholder. That's why you see some texture. My favorite black background to use is one of my wife's dresses because it shows up black with no texture at all.... I think she got mad at me for using it and has hidden it somewhere

That must be quite interesting to see, when you are arranging the dress to get a good shot!

In another post someone mentioned black silk as a background - in the past I have use a piece of black felt and it works pretty good.
