Differences between Laelia purpurata and L. Purpurata "uba tuba"?
everybody!
Last weekend I was at an Orchid Show and buy "some" plants..
I took a Laelia purpurata "Uba Tuba", but, searching the pic of the flower on the web, I looked at the wrong picture..
Now the only pic I can find is from Ecuagenera. But I cannot see the differences between uba tuba and normal purpurata.
Can someone help me?
'uba tuba' is a 'normal' Laelia purpurata. It is just a particular clone that they have named. You can have an un-named plant of L. purpurata and if you choose, can register it with a name. When it is awarded by the AOS or other official judging I believe it is required to name it and have it registered. Then only clones or parts of that plant can have the same cultivar name.
