Yes, I have a good outdoor growing environment for orchids that can handle temperatures down into the low 30's in December/January. Southern California is a mediterranean climate, more temperate here close to the ocean - warm dry spring-late fall, temps peaking in Aug/Sept, and then cool rainy winters with nighttime temps that on rare occasions can dip below freezing. But truly tropical orchids won't make it outdoors here unless i bring them in.
