Cattleya mossiae alba in bloom now
This was a nice suprize. My C. mossiae alba decided to bloom now. With this blooming the flower is larger, almost 7" natural spread, and flatter than normal.

This one in past years has bloomed from April to July with about a 5-5.5" flower. This year in July it flowered on 1 spike. This is the second one to pop with several more sheaths still waiting. I wonder just how many more may flower this year.

That remains to be seen. This one usually blooms in July at the latest. But for this year it has held off. Who knows when they will do their thing. |
