Blc. Island Charm 'OC' & Slc. Paprika 'Black Magic'
These are two new cattleyas added today.
I am so excited because the buds on both plants popped open a few hours after being brought in here.
I'm going to bed soon and I think I will see them in my dream. lol
Seriously, I will be so excited to get up in the morning and see them open.
They are both supposed to be fragrant too.
I love how the bud of Island Charm is green on sepals and cream white on the rest at this stage.

Once they are fully open, we need more pictures.

Both plants have been fully open for a couple of days and now I'm posting pictures.
the whie one smells really good while the red one doesn't have any scent yet.
The grower told me it is fragrant, but maybe he was confused with something else. will see.
Overall, I like the white flowers, but wish it opened up more flat and round. well, well, well,,,
The red one, the grower told me it's a rare heirloom variety. With the name black magic, I expected something really stunning, really dark and nice red.
but I'm rather disappointed a little bit.
Enjoy~

They are beauties.
Your 'Black Magic' was awarded an HCC/AOS back in 1971. From what I understand it can be a very nice red.

I'm glad viewers like them!
I just looked up some more pictures of Black Magic and some had nice deep red.
Mine has much more purple in it and the color tone is uneven. just not in love with it much.

They are lovely! I really like the first photo of the white one, it shows the frills so well.
