Light intermediate is the general rule for Cattleyas, Neverend. I use shade cloth that cuts 50% of the light intensity from mid-fall to mid-spring, more or less, when the light intensity is low here, and additional protection that raises that rate to 70% the rest of the year, especially in the summer. But, you have to consider that I am at least 3000 Km south from you, so the above information must be adapted to fit your light conditions, which I presume is high the year round.
I water it almost every other day from October to April, when it is warm and humid here (it depends a little on the weather), slowing down to two-three times a week from May to September, when it is cold and dry, very dry here. I try to counterbalance the dryness by watering the ground often (cold prevents from watering the plants directly). Hope this helps you. If you need anything else, just let me know.
