Three Catts purchased at an orchid show on Saturday.

#1. C. Ruth Gee. I think its "Carmela" but I'm not sure, it didn't have a clonal name on the label.

#2. Rth. Dal's Moon 'Thai Gold'

Half of the plant since repotting.

#3. C. Dal's Choice 'Castle Creek' The flowers were near dead so I got it "cheap"

They're all beautiful. Are any of them fragrant?

Very nice!

What exactly is that you're using as potting mix? I don't think I've seen that before.

Thai Gold is a lovely bloom. Do you use small rocks for potting?

The potting medium is pure coarse perlite, nothing else. I try to use shallow pots also. perlite can retain a lot of moisture in deep pots and for plants that don't like that, its dangerous for root rot. It can be a bonus if your too light with the watering or going away for long periods. If your over doing the watering ( like me ) shallow pots dry out quickly so its not a problem. I also feed the plants every time I water. Its very weak but since the perlite gives nothing in the way of food, you have to feed. The plants seem to be benefitting greatly from it also.
