I went to the site, Royal Hortricultural Society Orchid Registration Data Base and looked for this plant but it wasn't there. I guess maybe some names are not there.

The International Orchid Register / RHS Gardening <--- this link will go to Wendy's Valentine. Due to reclassifications amongst the Cattleya alliance, this is now Cattleya Wendy's Valentine.

All registered orchids are in the database. Click on "Grex Name Search" - fill in the field for "Grex" and search. I'd skip the "Genus" field, since many have been reclassified.

The GENUS name, now, for Lc, Blc, Slc, and all in the Cattleya alliance is CATTLEYA but the synonym name will still be listed as Sophrolaliocattleya etc.

Hi White Rabbit,
I did your link and it did pull this hybird up. I was searching it wrong. I have been growing orchids for 15 years now and have alot. I guess I have been out of touch with what's been happening as far as re-naming. It did make me wonder awhile back when I was doing and online order and the name of the same plant with 1 vendor was different than another vendor.

It's been on going for a while - many Brazilian Laelias were reclassified as Sophronitis, but then again moved to Cattleya. A number of Encyclias have been reclassified more than once. Those are just a couple of examples - It's hard to keep up! Which is why I suggested skipping the "genus" field on the RHS search. If there is more than one orchid with the same grex, it will list all of them, but you can probably figure out which one you are looking for.

I did realize that one of my Catt hybrids (Lc C.G Roebling) will be problematic, as it is now C C.G. Roebling, but there is also another C C.G. Roebling gah!
