I ask you this question because I try to understand some things with which I have troubles.
What is the flowering time in Brasil for cattleya maxima?
What is the flowering time in the North hemispher for these?
Where can I find a table showing the flowering time of the different cattleyas in South and North hemispher?
Many thanks in adavance for these precious informations.

Intruder, you have to consider that Venezuela is in the northern hemisphere (above the Equator) and Brazil in the southern hemisphere. So, when it is spring there (April, May, June), its fall here. Spring in Brazil is in October, November and December (now). So, Cat. mossiae being a spring bloomer flowers in May in Venezuela (hence Flor de Mayo) and six months later here, in October.
Cattleya maxima flowers here in spring (Oct/Nov/Dec) and six months later in the northern hemisphere.
Sorry, I don't know where such a comparative table can be found, but all you need to know is when they bloom in just one of the two hemispheres and apply the rule of thumb: they will bloom in the other hemisphere six months later. OK?
