Great culture Bud. You've got the touch. I have killed enough of these to know my culture is suspect. I might try again after seeing these. The flowers aren't my fancy but like you said, the fragrance is wonderful at night. That is why I kept trying to grow them. Now I'll try again. These and Citrina are my bane.

Bud, you just made up my mind for me. I've been thinking about getting one, although I've killed one already. After seeing yours, I will give it another try. I just have to remember about the winter rest!

Thank You, Tucker !

It is hanging mounted in the southfacing window and I never move it from its spot at all .... the roots are growing like crazy and even if it needs repotting badly; I just resist the urge to touch the roots

Thank You, Ron for your kind encouraging words and the visit !

Thank You, Nastia(JaneEyre) !

If you plan on getting one of these; choose a near blooming size so that you have an established plant and it gives you time to let it get acquainted to your environment before it flowers....once it flowers in your care it will keep on giving you blooms on every new growth it produces

Thank You, Steve !

James....you always give me encouraging notes and for that I Thank You!

I cant imagine you killing a plant like this when you can grow a new bud on a dying Cattleya....
I think if you dont give this a rest period it will edema on the leaf and turn to mush or it will dry out and lose all its leaves and you think its dead....it likes to play dead; but dont beleive it....because in a couple of months it will produce new bulbs as long as you do the rest period well

Thank You, Carpe Diem !

I am glad you are going to try again on this kind of plant. Just dont forget the original habitat it came from and some of these grow on rocks....try giving it what it is used to....warmth, humidity and it likes to feed and drink a lot
the seasons near the equator is only two: wet season and the dry season....in my apartment it gets constant summer with lots of water ...that is why I lessen watering in the winter to make it feel the dry spell

Is this a high light plant? Have had one for years and have never gotten any flowers. Strong eastern exposure, but never any flowers.

Tindomul, I'm guessing it is based on what I've read. I just recently moved mine to even higher light as a result and it's doing great. No buds yet, but growing like a weed now!
