Brassavola nodosa
I know you seen them before but not this one. I got this at a newcomers orchid meeting in the plant raffle .
Its mounted on plain cork with no moss. Gets hosed 3 times a day in the heat. Decided to bloom in the high light it also gets with the heat. A Weakly weekly regime of peters cal mag with some ground kelp for instant energy to the tiny roots.
the plants very small and smells very sweet at night as it should. It has now bloomed for me. I just love new bloomers

thanks you all..
This is my 3rd and the one thats done well for me. All the rest were in some form of potted media and died from being over-watered unfortunately. Left this one alone with nothing but cork and a staple..go figure..Less media is less work and more blooms for me..
Its kind of neat to watch these grow up the cork slabs. You see after sometime how these plants end up in the tops of trees. They just climb up the bark on the trunk slowly year after year after year reaching for the light. I understand more why they dont like being potted up when you see how they want to grow. ...And cant get much easier for us putting them on cork and letting them grow how they pleezes

I have mine of these mounted, but can't comment at the moment if that's good or bad. It seems happy enough and seems to have settled in enough to start growing.
