Blc Delta King 'Tangerglow'x L. anceps 'déjà vu'
Another from Cal Orchids, purchased at the Santa Barbara Orchid Fair in July 2011. I was unsure what to expect from this cross as there was just a description of the two parents, one a yellowish Catt hybrid and the other a purple L. anceps. I've had it out on the patio since then, and thought I lost it earlier this year from root rot, but corrected that by repotting in rock and hydroton and now it seems happy. Pictures are from this afternoon.

Very nice. I'll have to get up to see your orchids some day. Still ho[pe we can all meet for lunch some time. I love the color here. Is it fragrant?

To James,
Yes it is quite nice, seems to glow in the sunshine. But sadly no fragrance that I can discern. I see you are in Oceanside, so yes, we must do lunch one of these days and compare orchid notes

Do you belong to a local orchid club? Newport maybe? We could meet there. I like to see what other clubs are doing.

It might pay to contact Cal Orchids and ask if they are sure of the name Delta Queen, on the RHS there is 5 Delta's registered, they are Gold, King, Mist, Red, and Silk. Sorry there isn't a Queen in there.

Must have been the Olympics
and Queen Liz got caught up ignoring the British team entering the stadium and I had "Queen" on the brain.... I just looked back at Cal Orchid's website, it was "Blc. Delta King 'Tangerglow' X L. anceps 'Deja Vu'"

Ok then, that gives your plant a name, it's called Rhyncatlaelia Irvine Sunset.
