Oscarman, the mount for Little Stars/yellow Bird is a very old piece of driftwood. The wood had been rinsed many times to get the salt out. I am, however changing ( slowly ) to mount EVERYTHING on cedar, which in my opinion discourages insects/pests. Good question! BettyE.
