Love these little guys. I miss mine and am sad that I let one get away at a recent show. I was besotted by a Haraella. Next time!

I have a couple small ones I got this fall that are just starting to spike. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the infos! I thought that since the pods of this Leptotes contained 'vanillin' that they are closely related; you are right, the Vanilla plant grows longer whereas this Leptotes grow into a thick bush

Don't worry this is an easy to find orchid. You will get your plant too.

That small one you are describing will triple up in a year....this plant easily get to specimen size.

You have a dozen or so bulbs and that spike might contain two to three flowers.
Just be patient before long you will have a bush, and will give you a wonderful display someday.

Default SUCCESS!!!! I finally got several pods !

The day after I took pictures of my blooms; I self pollinated some opened flowers with the aid of a wooden toothpick and a magnifying glass.
And today, I discovered that I have 10 pods growing fat by the day.
I discovered this will be ripe for picking in 120 days and then I will dry it under the sun for a couple of days and put it in a tight jar soaked with some light edible oil, alcohol or wine to preserve the taste of the vanillin that is innate to this plant.
