C. Jungle Eyes 'Leopards Glare' X Blc. Waianea Leopard 'Ching Hua' HCC/AOS
Hello,
I recently won a C. Jungle Eyes 'Leopards Glare' X Blc. Waianea Leopard 'Ching Hua' HCC/AOS (Rex Fosters Orchids) from the SDCOS orchid raffle - it is such a gorgeous chid, and has so many of the characteristics of WLCH. The rich vibrant colors, the exciting spots, the waxy flowers, the intoxicating fragrance, the multifloral inflorescence... What more can one ask for? On top of this, the colors seem more vibrant when hybridized with C. Jungle Eyes - it now has a beautiful pinkish center which graduates towards orange and then yellow of the tips.
I can't wait for the next blooming cycle where I get to bloom them myself! Together with the same raffle, I also won a blue cattleya, C. Valentine cor. 'Billy's Blue' HCC/AOS X C. D Possie Tiziano 'Freckle Me Blue'.
I was wondering if any of you have experience with WLCH hybrids culture - should my new chids be subjected to normal cattleya conditions? The pics are taken in different lighting conditions: 1-3 is blue catt, 4-5 is WLCH hybrid.

Beautiful! I haven't grown either of these hybrids but I would just grow them like any other Catt. Good luck!

Jungle Eyes x Waianae Leopard = Rhyncholaeliocattleya Lue's Jungle Leopard. It was registered by Luetticke Orch. in 2008.

Congratulations, you picked up some real beauties. I love that Waianae Leopard cross. I do have Waianae Leopard and it takes normal cattleya culture. Bifoliates can react badly if repotted at the wrong time. Generally speaking they should be repotted when new roots are just starting to form.

Wow! I have both parents of your prize plant (well, not the clone of the Jungle Eyes), but I like yours almost better. Mine are growing easily with no special care, just standard catt conditions.
