Default Blc. Cherise Nishioka 'Hilo Flare'
This plant was given an Award of Merit by the Honolulu Orchid Society Judging Panel at the Aiea Orchid Show on June 7, 2012. The plant also won the Best Yellow Cattleya Trophy at the Show. What is shown is a rebloom of the awarded plant. It currently has 2 buds that have not yet opened. The intense buttercup yellow color will unfortunately fade after a day or two. The plant was purchased last year from Hawaii Hybrids in Hilo, Hawaii.

I'm a small backyard grower in a residential area overlooking Pearl Harbor. I barely have enough yard space to keep my orchids happy. Most of the photographs that I post on this Board are of plants that I raised and bloomed. My best friends are orchid people.

Beautiful! congratulations on the award. I really like the bright yellow. It's unfortunate that it fades.
