This is a beautiful flower....and fragrant at that ! I also saw Nat's flower full shot of the plant and a couple of opened blooms....I am drawn to the bright color and the fragrance....it will be on my wish list

Thanks, Sonya, James, Nat and Bud for looking and commenting. I used to grow this species in Houston but probably could not grow it here even if I had room.

Andy grows them somewhat wet. I watered mine the same way as when I ws down in SD and it just died. I got another one from SBOE and changed to less water but still it too died. Got another one (yes I'm a glutton for punishment) and changed yet again, but it too died. I gave up. SBOE has theirs up in the juniper torrealosa and they get very little wter and grow huge.

It is a constant source of amazement to me when I see a person doing well with an orchid that others have problems with, or when I can't grow something that others consider easy (though this one is not easy by anybody's reckoning).
