Nat - One of the things that I am aiming for in my tampensis crosses is a reduction in plant size, I don't really think that the Brassovolas would help me achieve that.

B. nodosa on the other hand won't increase size and as we have all discovered, is dominant for spots one of the things that I am looking for. For me that would mean yet another generation of back breeding to get rid of the B. nodosa shape.

On the other hand...B. nodosa blooms young and grows like a weed, both good traits in an orchid. Looks like I will have to hunt down a B. nodosa, cordata or maybe even a cucculata.

I will keep you in mind for seedlings, if and when they are ready.

Steve's idea actually, though I agree that it's a good one. Encyvola Gordon Vickers (nodosa x tampensis) is one of my favorite hybrids for its vigor and excellent fragrance.

What about using a nice Bc. Hippodamia, Bc. Theresa Ricci (Hippodamia crossed back to aclandiae), or just aclandiae? Could be some great color, spot, and flower size possibilities on mini plants.

Those crosses you already made sound nice, most Catyclias I've seen are very appealing. I'd love a chance at a seedling or two as well, please. Thanks for sharing info about your breeding efforts, Glen!

Wow! I love the tampensis hybrids also, but don't recall seeing one with this color- it usually seems to be really dominant for the green/olive. I'll drive over and get your discards too!
The potential pods you've made sound interesting- especially the first. Looking forward to seeing that (eventually!)

Encyclia tampensis hybrids can be very colorful, attached are some examples.
