Default C. violacea & C. aclandiae

These two hot growing Cattleyas are currently blooming in my GH.... I think I finally made to bloom C. violacea (needs lot of light and warm to hot temps, with high humidity the whole year), as I have at least two other plants that look like in the mood to bloom this year as well.. This makes me very very happy, as this is my favorite Cattleya and one of my two favorite orchids (the other is Catasetum pileatum)

Beautiful! I love these two species! I bet your greenhouse smells good right now! Great growing! I can't wait to see your other C. violacea plants when they bloom! C. violacea is one of my favorites too but I haven't had good luck with them. I need a greenhouse!

I have had not too much luck with C. violacea, but I am persistent. I have two that seem to be growing well now. One is a 4N, and the other is a sib cross. I have almost lost both of them a couple of times. They seem to do better in bark and moss in my conditions, but they will not bloom. I will have to get them to establish again I guess. any tips.
Andre

Those are two great species. I'm jealous of your violacea because mine has never bloomed. Good growing on both those nice phals.

Great looking blooms, Ramon. Really like the vibrant color of the C. violacea.

The aclandiae is nice, but the violacea is really nice! I love the color on that one.

Lovely violacea.
Does it need any different amount of light etc than a regular Cattleya ?
