Very pretty bloom. I really like the picture of the leaves, however, as it presents what an attractive display they make.

This is intersting. When I lived in Hawaii, my aclandiae would get nearly full sun for most of the day. It seemed to love it and I got 2 or 3 flushes of growth in the first 6 months of the year. Then it would sit dormant for the rest of the year.

At the moment mine is getting a lot of sun but I don't think its old enough to bloom. It's in a very open spot in the greenhouse. Maybe they are adaptable to more or less sun. And mine has the longer leaves.

Thanks RJSquirrel. My grow bulbs are the 6500K kind, and the leaves are a light green (the lights are on 12 h. a day). Maybe that's just a bit too much of a good thing.
Silken, I got mine from a member of our society, and it has the rounder leaves.

Lovely bloom and healthy, happy plant! Thanks for the growing tips. I'm planning to get one of these soon and these things are good to know. I may mount mine.

I do not have this plant but the growing tips you have given here I have learnt to apply to some of my orchids.. Now I know that this one is one of 'those' too.

At the beginning, aclandiae was not one of my favorite catts. In time I realized how beautifully strange is this flower. Now I associate it with a cheetah.

Congrats!
