Here is one of my praestans that opened a few days ago. I got this one at Santa Barbara Orchid Estate about four years ago. Thanks for looking!

Thanks Sonya! You should try some more! My favorites are the Laelias from Brazil. Especially the Hadrolaelia group and the ripiculous Laelias. These are all small plants too so you can pack a lot of them in a small space! They are all beautiful!

Hopefully I will - I had a tiny jongheana (seedling that was a freebie with an order) - I was so proud of myself that it did well for me for a couple years - then last year I repotted it, and it declined quickly I'll be keeping my eyes open for some. Small is definitley good - Space is becoming tight for orchids lol

And the gentleman in the back row goes....Oooooooo!!!! Nice color and good culture too. Be careful when you repot brazilian laelias. They are a little touchy at the wrong time of year. I have a couple I've rescued and I hope this year (august-oct) they will put out some flowers. I've read the AOS material on them and try to stay close to that info. Yours looks gorgeous.

Thanks guys! I actually repotted this plant a little while ago and during the repot is when I discovered the bud developing in the leaf. I was afraid the plant would abort the bud because I disturbed it but it didn't mind a bit! The rupicolous Laelias are a different matter though! They hate their roots being disturbed!

That's a pretty one, the bloom is so unbelievably large in relation to the plant! Glad that it didn't mind the repot, it would have been a shame to lose the bud.
