Default Cattleya Mossiae sib ('R.E. Patterson x reineckiana 'Young's Variety') H&R Semi Alba

Hello All!!!! Its been a long time coming but both plants have finally bloomed fully and I have taken the pics today!
Ok guys here they are Cattleya Mossiae sib ('R.E. Patterson x reineckiana 'Young's Variety') And Cattleya Mossiae v. Semi Alba 'H&R'

http://flickr.com/gp/30549444@N06/g8y6m6/

The Fragrance is still developing..... I hope it will be as strong as Cattleya labiata because that by far is the best smelling Cattleya I have sniffed and very powerful! it can be detected from a couple of feet away. These Mossiaes smell like tulips and roses!

The Shape is outstanding on both!!!!! its Sheer perfection! I prefer the lip of the Semi Alba! It is Dazzling! Both lips are gorgeous but the color saturation and markings of the semi alba lip contrast with the white sepals and petals and then explode!

The size of the flowers are identical in my opinion... I measured the flowers and they both plants flowers are 7 inches wide! Biggest cattleyas I've seen in person! only My Laelia Pacavia is as large.

The Semi alba, its petals/sepals are broader/wider which I love but it gives the flower a round appearance, I prefer the proportions of the Chadwick plant, to me it says quintessential Mossiae. If i had listened to Steve I would have two H&R plants, which now looking back would have been the smarter purchase(Like you said)..... 2 plants for the price of the Chadwick plant (After Shipping) but i don't regret buying both of these plants, I have my Dream X's 2 and two things to look forward to every spring!

Please all that view reply and tell me What you think!!!!!

Wow, I'd say you got some pretty nice looking flowers! My preference is for the semi-alba, but I'm biased towards semi-albas anyway! lol

I bet these will quickly turn into some really nice specimen plants for you too.

Haha I hadn't notice that Steve ; ). I really love them both! The fragrance did develop more and it's amazing!! Close to what a labiata smells like but less potent. The form of the semi alba also got better. I hope it picks up more buds next year. Don't tell anyone but...... I think the semi alba is my favorite!! Ha! The Chadwick plant does not look like its picture but the H&R semi alba looks better than its picture. I don't regret the purchase but I'm just saying.
