Gorgeous violacea! I really like the color of the labellum on this one!
This is however not the tipo, but semi-alba striata... Consider yourself lucky of the vendor's error! These are normally at least twice more expensive than the tipo!

As kavanaru points out, this is not a tipo form of C violacea. 'Tipo' is also not the way to refer to the tipo form. A capitalized name in enclosed by single quotes indicates a clonal name.
I believe the term tipo is Brazilian Portuguese & refers to the type or typical form of a species. The type is the first form of a species which was discovered & described. For Cattleya species, most tipo (type or typical) forms are pink or lavender. This is to be expected, since these color forms are more prevalent & more abundant in nature; therefore, by the laws of probability, they are most likely to be the first color form of their species to be discovered.
In a few cases, a different color form (semi-alba or yellow with red lip, for example) may have been discovered first. In those cases, that color form would be the type for the species, while the pink or lavender color would be a variety. Sometimes people may still refer to the reddish/lavender forms as tipo.
veekay. Your C violacea is a very nice color form. It is generally a semi-alba form. It has some reddish markings on the petals, which should intensify as the flowers mature. Consequently, some people may further describe your flower's color form as: fma (forma) semi-alba fma striata, because of the reddish striations in the petals of a basically semi-alba flower.
Yes, I know it gets confusing. These designations are not official varieties. They are for descriptive purposes only & that's why they are called formas instead of varieties.

That's a beautiful c.violecea! I love that coloring on it. My violacea has never bloomed yet. I'm hoping mine will be a nice one but I don't expect it to be nice as yours. Yours is exceptional. Congratulations.

Really quite beautiful, and (as Catwalker and Kavanaru already pointed out) much more rare than the standard pink-to-purple flowered plants. I have several violaceas and am really fond of them; nicely compact plants with long-lasting and fragrant blooms. The only drawback (for me) is that I have to pamper them like the warm-growing tropical phalaenopsis species (I'm guessing that keeping them happily warm enough won't be a problem for you in Trinidad). Congratulations on the flowers. They're beautiful.
