Very nice! my L. purpurata just bloomed for the first time monday.....purple lip though. I want a werckhauseri next. If you dont mind me asking, what is your Phd in?

So I suppose you study Alexander the Great and his influence in the area?
I haven't got the first clue about Classical Archaeology, or any archaeology, but I always find it interesting.

Yes, actually a large part of my research was on the "non-influence" of Alexander the Great, the person. Western ancient and modern literature state him as a major influence on the region and its people during and after his death. This is not so much true however. Of course, hellenic culture that he brought with him made a tremendous influence all the way to India, but Alexander the person was not "the great" as westerners see him. |
