You know, I never remember to smell the flowers because i'm so used to paphs, which don't have scents. Also, i don't really like fragrances, so i don't usually smell the flowers!

btw, are these your own pictures or are you scanning from an encyclopedia? hehe photos are just as beautiful as the subjects !

For the most part, orchids are quite easy to photograph. Just throw a black silk velvet background and snap away.

Birds and fish are another story! (I breed birds and used to breed fish). It's a lot easier to photograph that doesn't move than a bird that's flying all over the place or a fish that's swimming all over plus you have the reflection of the glass!

I have some hybrids coming into bloom, will photograph those as soon as they open.

It's also L. purpurata and L. tenebrosa season so many of those have buds swelling!
