Yes, it was, but the pix are current, and if I'm like orchid fanciers here on the Orchid Source, my interest remains for orchids species and hybrids that I like and/or am still looking for.
I personally have been looking for a decent Lc. Ann Follis for years. I also have not quite yet given up on finding a mature plant or division of Blc. Goldernell 'Southern Cross' which so far remains elusive except for small seedlings.
I like to tell my non-orchid growing friends that orchid growing is not a hobby, but rather a disease -and an incurable one, at that, which I feel is a fairly correct pronouncement after 51 years of orchid growing as a hobbyist!
Cheers!

Thanks Paul. I had a look and they were beautiful photos! Now that a few years have gone by obviously there are more photos online. I no longer have my Mae Bly, it didn't survive for me....one of many....I appreciate the time you took to post this info as it was nice to see these photos. Happy growing!

You're welcome, Helen.
I haven't seen Lc. Ann Follis available for a while now, but Eplc. Mae Bly can be found. I don't care much for the splash-petalled cultivar, 'Ching Hua' but much prefer the clear apple-green w/ red lip cultivar called 'Emy', and it can still be found if you look around carefully.
Although it seems to be a somewhat slow grower, my plant of 'Emy' seems to thrive on neglect and usually produces two flowers about 6-inches across when it blooms. They last at least two weeks but the buds are heavy on the spike and so the growth and the spike both need to be staked or the flowers don't display very well.
I really love those big green flowers that it produces.
Cheers!

Emy sounds lovely...I have to stop buying for a while...I just sold 25 so now have an even 100...it's too time consuming to water, etc..unless of course I find another irresistible one that I just MUST have ...lol...I have the same disease as you do....talk soon

Here is a photo of the clone I have,
Eplc. Mae Bly 'Emy'
...which is a cross of (Lc. Ann Follis x Encyclia mariae)
(and of course, Lc. Ann Follis was what being discussed at the beginning of this thread, 2 yrs ago).
But what mostly seems to be in the trade these days is the cultivar 'Ching Hua' which, as I mentioned before, is not near so attractive to me and the clear apple-green 'Emy' clone of this hybrid.

You will find that for most catts and their cousins if it hasn't been grown in a few years there most likely wouldn't be pictures of it. I have a slew of old crosses that have no pictures. Either the grower no longer exists or it has been hybridized out of existence. Catts General Patton, Barbara Billingsley, Karen Gubler, Mary Probstele and more are no longer grown or where grown are not put on the net. Someday maybe I'll put them up on the net but I may be the only one with them growing so maybe not.
