Good question, Dave! My description wasn't very complete, there is indeed some moss under and around the plant to help retain more moisture than straight ecoweb (in this case actually another very similar product sold at a garden center for pond filters). Still dries out thoroughly within 8-12 hours, though. This was one of my early epiweb-type material mounting trials and while this one species has done well on it, I find that in general for my conditions (windowsills, less-than-daily watering) the plastic meshes don't hold enough moisture to make ideal mounts.
I've been doing more recent trials on 'sandwiches' of finer-textured plastic meshes (kitchen scouring pads) with ecoweb, and though nothing's been on them too long they seem to work well for moderate-moisture plants. I also LOVE cubes of ecoweb-type material for potting applications so far (usually mixed with other media like moss), very easy to work with and many desirable properties.
Sorry to hijack your thread, Ramón, back to viewing the beautiful cernua!
