Default Cattleya walkeriana 'Compadre' x 'Cambará'

First blooming of a seedling acquired from BV Orchids, a renowned nursery of Assis, in the Estate of São Paulo, Brazil (hint: they will be in Redlands). This is an attempt to seletive breeding, crossing two very good plants. As usually happens, the result is inferior than the parent plants. It remains the consolation of being a very vigorous and easy growing plant, blooming on two fronts, it should form a beautiful set in a few years...

Beautiful orchid and a healthy looking plant. I love that walkeriana fragrance.

Maybe not as good as the parents, but that's not a bad walkeriana at all, and will likely be better when it blooms next year.

Seems ok for a first bloom. Like Anglo said, I bet the next bloom will be better.

The hope of some improvement in the coming blooms really exists, but the potential of the plant (speaking in terms of future awards in Orchid Shows) is limited. Either way is a beautiful and vigorous plant, not to mention the extremely strong and delicious perfume!
