As one parent of C. Portia is C. bowringiana, it always shows a round globe or ball at the base of the pseudobulb, where the roots sprout from.

A shame it doesn't have a name, because it's really gorgeous!! I don't know enough about Catts to be of any help name wise.

Beautiful orchid. A rose by any other name is still a rose.

Howdy
is this its first spring blooming?? Portia, Porcia, and most bowringiana hybrids are typically strictly fall blooming orchids. They can, I suppose, have an odd spring blooming (equinox things) but typically in the northern hemisphere, they are fall bloomers
Could be Portia crossed with a spring bloomer like warneri, gaskelliana, mossiae, or 1000s of any hybrids.
No tag??
Very nice orchid. Hope you find the name.
Take care
may all your orchids bloom like crazy!

Well Frdemetr
since I didn't realize you were in the southern hemisphere, and your autumn equinox has arrived, I suppose you could have C. Portia. Sure does look like mine -- tall, labiata looking in the lip, a bit bulbous at the base of each pbulb.
good luck.

Thanks for the comments, Rex! As you and "Euplusia" noted, the base of the pseudobulbs is globose, confirming the presence of C bowringiana. I have some confirmed C Portia that bloom at this time too, but the lips are slightly different, hence my question. Once they bloom I'll post the pics, for comparison.
