That's a very striking flower. It sounded familiar, and the name is one which was discussed on another forum. The name is not registered, and there is a clone 'Golden Angel' being marketed also; it is yellow with a splash of red on the tip of the lip. Google it and see if you think they're related.

Normally I dislike any form of pelorism, but this is actually pretty nice!

Yes, Msaar, I'm involved in that forum discussion. We've found the vendor and are working to get the proper name and info.
Blazer, mine's bred true twice now so I don't think it's a fluke peloric. I never even thought about it as a peloric until now but I think it's actually semi-peloric as the petals are only the same color, not the same shape. Either way, for me it's a keeper !!!!!!

Can someone tell me when Potinara's potentially bloom and the light required and conditions for blooming? I rescued one over a year ago, growing like a weed, it gets a bit of morning sun, its in a bark mixture, no Sphagum moss. Its very dry here in Denver, I mist daily and have to water it 2 X a week! I am a beginner! Thanks folks.

I'm not familiar with the plant. However, Kozo is someone's name. Emi is a woman's name. Vi is the preferred prefix for a particular Japanese nursery's clones. SM/JOGA means Silver Medal of the Japan Orchid Growers Association. The award is very prestigious, because of the very uniformly high standards of this national professional group. GM is equivalent to FCC/AOS; SM is equivalent to AM/AOS & BM is equivalent to HCC/AOS. Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals.

I don't want to hijack Merlyn's thread but this one takes standard cattleya care. Needs higher light than some and cool to int. conditions. The only award I see in OrchidWiz was awarded in Dec. in the U.S. so it must have bloomed then. It doesn't necessarily mean they all must bloom then.

I do have a NW facing window which is cooler than where it is now, I could close the sheer curtain, this window gets about an hour of sun, do ya think that would be better?
