Beautiful flower. The color is festive and cheerful...you surprise me! This is one of the classic flowers you have instead of the exotic ones I am used to seing you post...
I love that this has a yellow Sophronitis in it...

Ron - Very nice, I know that the Martha Clarke is one of Fred Clarkes crosses (it's named after his wife), do you know if this one is also.

Bud - The only Sophronitis in this cross is coccinea, which is red. It really is, genetically, very interesting. Both of the parents in this cross have one red and one yellow parent:
Martha Clarke is Circle of Life (red) X Love Sound (yellow)

Beaufort is straight species, coccinea (red) x luteola (yellow)

Thanks, Bud, and Glen is right - the Sophronitis parent is red. As to the flower I do grow a few "ordinary orchids, a few Paphs, Phals and Catts.

Glen, this is indeed one of Fred's crosses. I bought a bunch of seedlings a few years ago and they are gradually all coming into bloom. His crosses are great.
