They had a ton of these at Lowe's for $5.98! What a deal, right?! I'm not too familiar with all of the various Epi's, so unless someone wants to chime in with a name this one's a NoID. Epidendrum redicans? I bought it as a landscaping choice, not so much as an addition to my collection, but it doesn't hurt that it just happens to be an orchid. Anyhow, it's about 8" high before the spikes, and about 12" wide. It has 6 more spikes developing besides the one with blooms opened. Orange is one of my favorite colors, if not my favorite color, so I decided to get it. I have it planted in a sandy bed that gets full sun for a lot of the day during the summer, and in the winter it gets only morning and late afternoon sun with very bright indirect light through midday. It will get hit with the sprinklers 3 or 4 days a week. Any advice is welcome! Thanks for looking!
The flower is similar, but I'm inclined to say no because the growth habit is so compact. Every confirmed radicans I've seen has a bigger, untidier growth habit than yours.
