In the summer it's one of the rare orchids that goes outside, and usually those come in when there are several days of rain forecasted. July was an extremely cool and wet month, and one time I forgot the poor Sophronitis outside in the rain for nearly a week. It seemed fine at first, but then a spot of rot appeared on a growth, so I cut it off. But it was too late, the infection had already spread systemically and within 2 weeks the plant was dead.
I loved it, the color was very very red. Most cernua tend to be a bit orangish, so I doubt I'll be able to find another with such vibrant color.
